Dr. Valentyna Filimonova

International award-winning sociolinguist, with 10 years of experience in research, teaching, community management, and consulting across the US and Mexico, pedagogically and professionally curating and tailoring the wide list of offerings to the changing needs of the membership. She is a published researcher, curriculum designer, public speaker, and professional consultant inside and outside of academia.

Dr. Guillermo Hernandez Santana (UNAM)

Doctor of Anthropology from UNAM with 5 years of teaching experience at Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) in the areas of ethnolinguistics, philosophy of language, language documentation, Seri language and culture, historical linguistics, anthropology, Mexican Sign Language, among others. Guillermo is also a virtual advisor for Prepa en Línea SEP since 2015, along with other professional appointments across several Mexican institutions, such as Escuela de Antropología e Historia del Norte de México at Chihuahua and Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH). His 10-year research experience is supported by a steady publication record.

Esthela Ramirez Hernandez, MA (UNAM)

Doctoral candidate in Applied Linguistics & Second Language Acquisition with published research on bilingualism, phonetics, and phonology at UNAM, specializing in English teaching and learning, especially as it relates to pronunciation. She is also a professor at Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMex) with 14-year tenure.

Emily Arcego, MA (UFSC)

Doctoral candidate in translation studies with 14 years of experience in teaching English and 8 years working with Spanish-Portuguese-English translation, with a special focus on literary translation, translator training, translation didactics, and technologies for translation and multimedia subtitling. Emily’s training and certification come from highly competitive institutions of Universidade Regional Integrada (URI), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Río Grande del Sur (PUCRS), Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), EC London English School, and International School of New York. Her master’s research on literary translation is published online.

Nicole Marie Gallego, MA (UNAM)

Nicole Marie Gallego es parte de la mesa operativa en la asociación civil El Pozo de Vida, la cual lucha contra la trata de personas y explotación sexual de mujeres y jóvenes en México. Es egresada del programa de diplomado Escuela Político Feminista, impartido por la asociación civil mexicana Gema Joven. Cuenta con una Maestría en Trabajo Social por parte de la UNAM, donde es docente en la asignatura del programa de Especialidades. Originaria de California, EUA, lleva más de 10 años laborando en organizaciones internacionales en México con programas sociales cuyos objetivos incluyen erradicar la violencia contra la mujer en todas sus modalidades.
